IN TODAY’S WORLD, SINCE CITIZENS UNITED, A PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATE HAS TO HAVE TWO THINGS, MAYBE THREE, BEFORE MAKING A SERIOUS RUN FOR OFFICE! NONE OF THESE HAVE ANYTHING TO DO WITH “THE REAL PEOPLE, THE CITIZENS OF AMERICA!

HE, OR SHE NEEDS AT LEAST ONE BILLIONAIRE willing to spend limitless amounts on his or her campaign and a “SUPER PAC”—a supposedly independent political action committee that accepts large donations that have to be disclosed. The third useful asset is “DARK MONEY”, an organization that under the tax code is supposedly “operated exclusively to promote social welfare.”

The relevant section of the tax code, 501(c)(4), would appear to be intended for the Sierra Club and the like, not political money. But the IRS rules give the political groups the same protection. The contributions to these last groups have come to be called “dark money” because the donors can remain secret. The very wealthy can contribute to such dark money groups in the knowledge that people won’t know who is trying to buy a candidate.

This will not change as long as multinational corporate money is legally the same as our free speech, as long as Corporate Personhood is the law, the law that supersedes all other laws, a law that creates Super People with more power, and more authority, than the citizens of the Untied States! We must Move To Amend. We must not leave the very, very, few in charge through the use of their Dark Money, Super PACs, and PACs. They are manipulating our elections. They are manipulating voter apathy, They are manipulating the laws of our land that become our laws. PROFIT OVER PEOPLE is now in charge. Our government should not regulate people to protect the corporate world! Our government should regulate the corporate world to protect the people as our Constitution was first intended!

Our new governmental system is working very, very, well for the very, very few, and changing the climate for generations to come. Our new system of government, a plutocracy, has multinational corporations, (as people), their money, (as speech), through Dark Money, PACs & Super PACs, electing their leaders, as our leaders, supporting legislation that benefits them, focusing on profits over people, to the detriment of the people!
